Cooperative Paws is a small business in Vienna, Virginia. Ken and Veronica are a husband and wife team who offer private dog obedience training, puppy training and dog behavior consulting to residents of Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. Cooperative Paws uses only humane methods that emphasize rewarding desired behavior as recommended by dog behaviorists, veterinarians and other accredited experts.
Veronica's qualifications include a Masters Degree in Education, a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Certification in Pet Dog Training, Certification in Animal Behavior Consulting, endorsement by the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors and extensive experience as a professional dog trainer who thoroughly enjoys training puppies, dogs and solving pet behavior problems. Ken has experience training dogs for competition frisbee, therapy work, service work, and basic manners as well as extensive business expertise. Both Ken and Veronica are members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
Ken and Veronica grew up in Fairfax County and currently share their home with four dogs. They have owned dogs and cats from various backgrounds, from local animal shelters, rescue groups, as well as responsible breeders. All of their dogs have earned Canine Good Citizen Certificates, several have worked as therapy dogs in area nursing homes and two are service dogs as well.
Ken and Veronica take great pride in offering personal attention to each and every client and specialize in offering private training and consulting sessions exclusively. Thus, each client receives customized services. In February, 2008, Cooperative Paws LLC was listed in Washingtonian magazine as one of the area's top dog trainers.

What is a Dog Behavior Consultant?
A dog behavior consultant is a professional who supports pet owners in preventing and solving dog behavior problems such as aggression, fearful behavior, separation distress, repetitive or destructive behaviors. The International Association of Animal Behavior Consulting credentials animal behavior consultants. Dog trainers specialize in training dogs specific behaviors such as obedience skills.
