Cooperative Paws is a small dog training business based in Vienna, Northern Virginia run by a husband and wife team, Ken Oberle and Veronica Sanchez. Cooperative Paws offers private training and behavior consultations to residents of Washington DC area.
Veronica's qualifications include a Masters Degree in Education, a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Certification in Pet Dog Training, Certification in Animal Behavior Consulting, endorsement by the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors and extensive experience as a professional dog trainer who thoroughly enjoys training puppies, dogs and solving pet behavior problems. Ken handles the administrative aspects of the business and also assists in training sessions when necessary. He has experience training dogs for competition frisbee, therapy work, service work, and basic manners. Both Ken and Veronica are members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
Cooperative Paws' high quality services have been recognized in Washingtonian magazine as one of the Washington DC area's top dog trainers as well as in Northern Virginia Magazine's "Best of Northern Virginia" issue in the "Best Trainers" category. Cooperative Paws' trainer and behavior consultant, Veronica, uses only humane methods that emphasize rewarding desired behavior as recommended by dog behaviorists, veterinarians and other accredited experts.
Ken and Veronica grew up in Fairfax County and currently share their home with four dogs. They have owned dogs and cats from various backgrounds, from local animal shelters, rescue groups, as well as responsible breeders. All of their dogs have earned Canine Good Citizen Certificates, one is titled in AKC competition obedience. Over the years, they trained several of their own dogs to work as therapy dogs in area nursing homes for Fairfax County Pets on Wheels program and two are service dogs as well.
Ken and Veronica take great pride in offering personal attention to each and every client and specialize in offering private training and consulting sessions exclusively. Thus, each client receives customized services.
