"Veronica is truly wonderful!  She has such a calm, warm personality which is greatly appreciated by both her human and animal clients!  She was immensely helpful in socializing our rescue Hound-mix puppy, Sage.  Through reward-based training methods, Veronica is able to use her background in psychology and vast knowledge of animal behavior and training to develop a plan to tackle a variety of difficult situations.  She has been such a valuable and comforting support for our family, and we don’t know where we would be without her!"

"I am fortunate to be able to refer adopters to Veronica Sanchez of Cooperative Paws. As the training and behavior specialist at a local animal shelter, her consulting services are an invaluable resource.

Personally, without Veronica’s help I don't know where I would be. I adopted Skye when he was 1 year old. He came to me with a whole host of behavior problems, including reactivity towards other dogs, reactivity towards noisy and/or moving vehicles and separation distress that resulted in bites to my thigh. Determined to not give up, Veronica became my hope for a happier, well-adjusted dog. With her help and expertise Skye has blossomed. He is a constant companion and accomplished Rally-O and Agility dog. Before, he could not walk out the door without reacting to something moving in his environment including bicycles, motorcycles, trucks, and especially dogs. Now we can go for long walks without incident. I am so grateful to Veronica for all of the help that she has given to us.

Veronica is an incredibly professional and compassionate person. She has an amazing ability to translate her extensive dog behavior knowledge into clear-cut, understandable behavior plans. This ability and her immeasurable patience allows her to take any willing dog owner and equip them with the necessary tools to properly handle and rehabilitate a dog. Veronica has an amazing talent to work with people as well as dogs, which makes her such a gem for our community."

"We have participated in group sessions in the past but with mixed results. Veronica's knowledge combined with her unique mix of behavioral psychology and gentle training gave us extraordinary results and almost immediate positive change in our dog! It's so nice to get comments about "how well-behaved" or "calm" your puppy is! Thank you, Thank you, Thank You!"

"I really enjoyed getting to know you and appreciate all that you did for Riley and me.  I have taken a lot of training in both my professional and personal life and you are tops- the perfect mix of friendliness and seriousness which maximizes what one learns from you.  I definitely plan on following through with all that you have outlined and it is comforting to know that I can contact you if I hit a snag."

"While I have enjoyed every minute that my little rescue, A.J., has been in my life, he had started to develop some undesirable behaviors. I wanted to be sure to address them quickly, so I sought the help of Veronica and Cooperative Paws, LLC. Though my biggest challenge with A.J. is really that he’s too cute , too smart, and too stubborn for his own good, Veronica and her sidekicks, Louie and Firefly, were able to give both of us the help and guidance we needed, as well as tools that will keep us working together long into the future. We still have a long way to go (at the end of the day, all behavior modification takes time, patience and practice), but I know with the handouts and “homework” lists that Veronica provides, and knowing that she’s out there when I need her, A.J. and I will continue to make the progress we need to be a happy, balanced 'family.'"

"Thank you so much.  Your observations and ideas for my dog amaze me.  You are so good with really trying to discern what is going on in their little heads and reading the signs they give.  It’s very comforting to work with you."

"Veronica was faced with an extremely difficult and heart breaking case of dog aggression between my two beloved Kerry Blue Terriers. The excellent results obtained by Veronica in treating Vronsky and Asya is the result of her profound knowledge of dogs (and humans!) and her extensive professional background. During the 4 months it took to solve the problem I knew Veronica was always there to support me and she gave me clear instructions and lots of behavioral modification exercises, that even today we continue to use. Thanks a million Veronica, we couldn't have done it without you!"

"Veronica, Thank you so much for teaching Sprocket and me to work well as a team. When we first came to you, I was at a complete loss at how to handle his behavior. With your assistance and insight into both dog and human behavior, I was able to learn the right way to respond to Sprocket. He's no longer the "terror pup" that he was just a few months ago, and there's no doubt in my mind that we wouldn't have been able to achieve such a marked difference in behavior without your guidance. Thank you!"

"Veronica and Ken, I feel as if you have given me my beloved pet back, and the tools to keep working with him...I also want to thank you for being such a pleasure to work with -  professional, knowledgeable and good company. I know you end up training the owners as much as the pets but you do it with such skill that I will miss our meetings!"

"When I brought my newly-rescued dog to Veronica, I was at a loss as to why she behaved as she did.  My dog's fear-aggression and shyness was debilitating to her ability to enjoy her new life with me, and others' ability to enjoy her company.  Veronica's expertise and knowledge helped me understand why my dog acted the way she did, and taught me how to help my dog come out of her shell.  I am beyond grateful for Veronica's help in making my dog the happy, adjusted puppy that she's become!"

Denise Gitsham

"Veronica is an amazing trainer. Her many years of training and experience with a variety of dog breeds (including the more difficult ones) was apparent when she worked with our German Shepherd. In addition to her infinite patience, I love how she "gets" how different dogs think/react/behave to dynamic situations and how well they respond to her  I highly recommend her!"

"Veronica, I really want to thank you for all you did for Sony and us!!! You and Ken are amazing and I really wonder if Sony would still be here had you not of helped us. I had my doubts but you hung in there and you turned her into a terrific dog!!! Your patience, dedication, knowledge, and love for dogs is evident in your work!!! We were lucky to have worked with you and am looking forward to our follow up lessons!!!"

"Veronica's background in education, psychology and her knowledge of dog training and animal behavior have been tremendous assets for Paws-Up, Inc. In her role as Educational Program Coordinator, she has produced numerous training materials that we regularly use with our assistance and therapy dog clients. We have sought her advice on dog behavior and training challenges involving assistance dogs, therapy dogs as well as pets.

Veronica's classroom teaching experience is reflected in her consideration of client learning styles when she conveys animal behavior and training information. She is skilled at breaking down dog training instructions for complex behaviors into simple, do-able steps. I highly recommend having Veronica teach you how to train and modify your pet's behavior!"
